Osaka Feedback Model. II. Modeling Supernova Feedback Based on High-resolution Simulations

چکیده

Feedback from supernovae (SNe) is an essential mechanism that self-regulates the growth of galaxies, and a better model SN feedback still needed in galaxy formation simulations. In first part this paper, using Eulerian hydrodynamic code Athena++, we find universal scaling relations for time evolution momentum radius superbubble, when are scaled by those at shell-formation time. second develop based on Athena++ simulation results utilizing Voronoi tessellation around each star particle, implement it into GADGET3-Osaka smoothed particle code. Our was demonstrated to be isotropic conservative terms energy momentum. We examined mass/energy/metal loading factors our stochastic thermal produced galactic outflow carries metals high above plane but with weak suppression formation. Additional mechanical further suppressed brought agreement observations Kennicutt--Schmidt relation, all being within uncertainties observed data. argue both necessary individual bubble unresolved.

Hydrodynamical simulations of galaxy formation: effects of supernova feedback

In this paper we numerically simulate some of the most critical physical processes in galaxy formation: The supernova feedback loop, in conjunction with gas dynamic processes and gravitational condensations, plays a crucial role in determining how the observable properties of galaxies arise within the context of a model for large-scale structure. Our treatment incorporates a multi-phase model o...

mortality forecasting based on lee-carter model

over the past decades a number of approaches have been applied for forecasting mortality. in 1992, a new method for long-run forecast of the level and age pattern of mortality was published by lee and carter. this method was welcomed by many authors so it was extended through a wider class of generalized, parametric and nonlinear model. this model represents one of the most influential recent d...

Vegetation controls on northern high latitude snow-albedo feedback: observations and CMIP5 model simulations.

The snow-masking effect of vegetation exerts strong control on albedo in northern high latitude ecosystems. Large-scale changes in the distribution and stature of vegetation in this region will thus have important feedbacks to climate. The snow-albedo feedback is controlled largely by the contrast between snow-covered and snow-free albedo (Δα), which influences predictions of future warming in ...

Simulations of the PEP-II Transverse Coupled–bunch Feedback System

We report the results of a computer simulation of the PEPII transverse feedback (TFB) system including single particle transverse beam dynamics and measured RF cavity higher order modes. The simulation addresses issues such as required FB power and gain, noise, bunch offsets, and varying initial bunch conditions. We also summarize a simulation of a proposed mode of operation of the feedback sys...
